If I could live anywhere in the world, I think younger me would have picked something big.
Maybe a place with mountains in the background, ocean air, warmer weather, or a quiet cabin tucked away somewhere with no one bothering me.
But the older I get, and the deeper I get into this whole husband-and-dad thing, the more my answer changes.
I do not think the perfect place is really about the country, the view, or the size of the house.
It is about the life happening inside it.
I would want to live somewhere my wife feels safe. Somewhere my kids can run around, be loud, get dirty, and grow up with good memories. Somewhere the bills do not crush us so badly that all we do is work, stress, sleep, and repeat.
A place where supper is not always rushed. Where weekends are not only for catching up on chores. Where I can still have enough energy at the end of the day to be present instead of just physically there.
So if I could live anywhere in the world, I would choose a place where my family can breathe.
A safe home. A strong family. A little bit of peace. And enough room to build a life we do not constantly feel the need to escape from.
